Job Description

The Product Manager Acquiring Services will be responsible for growing revenue and profits from merchant acquiring in Europe. This includes the full range of card schemes – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Union Pay, JCB and Discover – as well as alternative payment types such as AliPay. The role spans point of sale and e-commerce and will be the subject matter expert for EVO in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Acquiring value proposition we put to customers including pricing and commercial terms
  • Working closely with the international payment schemes & with EVO’s European and global marketing services and portfolio managers
  • Define the European acquiring product strategy & roadmap in conjunction with EVO’s national business units
  • Build scorecards and reporting mechanisms for our acquiring products in conjunction with EVO’s finance teams
  • Monitor the commercial relationships between EVO & the card schemes, propose & negotiate changes to deliver better outcomes for EVO & its customers where appropriate
  • Develop innovative products & services that differentate EVO from its competitiors in key markets including new payment acceptance types (eg AliPay)
  • Write compelling business cases for new product development
  • Manage the end to end process for collecting EVO’s acquiring business requirements in conjunction with our business analysis team, including inputs from EVO’s sales teams
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the merchant acquiring market including competitive analysis and ad hoc market research
  • Manage a large number of internal stakeholders from EVO’s national business units, technology divisions and European management team
  • Support Strategic projects including M&A activities
  • Assisting in properly qualifying payment card industry compliance requirements

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of card payment processing products and services gained through prior experience in product management or as a senior business analyst for a merchant acquirer
  • Alternatively a background in consulting in this sector
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex issues simply and the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders
  • Track record in launching successful acquiring products in international markets
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver innovative products and services when the resources (people, budget) are not under their direct control
  • Fluent in English.
  • Other European languages would be an asset especially Polish, Czech, German or Spanish
  • Pro-activity, vision and leadership
  • Open and inquiring minded
  • Able to travel regularly to EVO offices in Europe
